Opened December 15, 2021, Montage Big Sky is a modern alpine retreat surrounded by the grandiose Spanish Peaks range and under an hour from Yellowstone National Park. Drawing from the grandeur of the surrounding landscape for design inspiration, we imparted a contemporary take on the North American lodge and captured the genuine spirit of Big Sky. Nature’s range and splendor is expressed through a material palette of regional wood and stones, surfaces in the spa that appear like rocks that have been abstracted and sliced from a boulder, and double-height spaces with soaring gables in the public spaces that embody the iconic Spanish Peaks seen on the horizon line. The interiors offer a sense of renewal and respite so guests can connect with loved ones and feel refreshed after enjoying the outdoor recreation and incredible access to Big Sky Resort’s 5,850 skiable acres.
