Purchaser/Expediter 3-5 Years

BraytonHughes Design Studios is seeking a motivated, resourceful, organized, and detail-oriented individual to be a Purchaser/Expediter. The Purchaser/Expediter position is responsible for all project-related purchasing.


  • Work with interior designer and accounting to prepare and process purchase orders, deposits, and final balance due payments to manufacturers through the procurement process

  • Consult with project team on scope, schedule, and budget. 

  • Finalize design details with interior designer to obtain proper pricing.  Request vendor quotes.  Review vendor quotes for proper lead times, pricing, delivery, and freight costs

  • Coordinate production checks and review submittals, including strike-offs, CFAs, and finish samples, to assure product is made to our specifications and ensuring continuous quality control

  • Maintain order logs and create purchase reports per project showing status updates, potential delays, or schedule impacts

  • Facilitate expediting of goods and services procured and manage all related documentation

  • Coordinate shipment logistics through vendors or shippers to ensure arrival of merchandise on site, on time, and in perfect condition. 

  • Oversee and document all incoming and outgoing inventory


  • Schedule and assist with project installations, including warehousing, site delivery, and installers. 

  • Manage post-installation situations in a timely manner; follow up with vendors if product does not meet established standards

  • Engage and maintain vendor and third-party relationships


  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university. A degree in accounting a plus.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a professional environment that includes purchasing experience at a residential design studio or hospitality purchasing firm.

  • Strong project management and organization skills with a keen attention to detail

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Strong sense of self-motivation and follow through

  • Highly organized and capable of juggling various tasks and deadlines

  • Team player who is positive, easy-going, and flexible


  • Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required

  • Knowledge of interior design purchasing programs preferred

  • Knowledge of QuickBooks preferred
