Purchaser/Expediter 3-5 Years
BraytonHughes Design Studios is seeking a motivated, resourceful, organized, and detail-oriented individual to be a Purchaser/Expediter. The Purchaser/Expediter position is responsible for all project-related purchasing.
Work with interior designer and accounting to prepare and process purchase orders, deposits, and final balance due payments to manufacturers through the procurement process
Consult with project team on scope, schedule, and budget.
Finalize design details with interior designer to obtain proper pricing. Request vendor quotes. Review vendor quotes for proper lead times, pricing, delivery, and freight costs
Coordinate production checks and review submittals, including strike-offs, CFAs, and finish samples, to assure product is made to our specifications and ensuring continuous quality control
Maintain order logs and create purchase reports per project showing status updates, potential delays, or schedule impacts
Facilitate expediting of goods and services procured and manage all related documentation
Coordinate shipment logistics through vendors or shippers to ensure arrival of merchandise on site, on time, and in perfect condition.
Oversee and document all incoming and outgoing inventory
Schedule and assist with project installations, including warehousing, site delivery, and installers.
Manage post-installation situations in a timely manner; follow up with vendors if product does not meet established standards
Engage and maintain vendor and third-party relationships
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university. A degree in accounting a plus.
3-5 years’ experience in a professional environment that includes purchasing experience at a residential design studio or hospitality purchasing firm.
Strong project management and organization skills with a keen attention to detail
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong sense of self-motivation and follow through
Highly organized and capable of juggling various tasks and deadlines
Team player who is positive, easy-going, and flexible
Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required
Knowledge of interior design purchasing programs preferred
Knowledge of QuickBooks preferred
