Junior Interior Designer, 0-3 Years
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Support lead designers with projects from concept through completion phases.
Assemble physical and digital presentation boards.
Render floor plans and elevations for presentation.
Interact with manufacturers to follow up on products, verify pricing, order samples, etc.
Help select furnishings, material finishes, hardware and plumbing fixtures.
Under the supervision of a lead designer, develop plan layouts and elevations in Auto Cad and/or REVIT.
Under the supervision of a lead designer, prepare FF&E package documentation (i.e. FF&E specifications, custom furniture drawings, furniture plan layouts and coordination with interior architectural plans).
Under the supervision of a lead designer, prepare interior architectural package documentation (i.e. plans, architectural specifications, details, custom millwork drawings, elevations, furniture plan layouts and lighting).
Under the supervision of a lead designer, coordinate and organize working budgets.
Under the supervision of a lead designer, perform construction administration, including submittal tracking / logging, RFI responses, shop drawing and control sample review, and coordination with consultants, manufacturers, etc.
Degree from an accredited design or architectural school.
0-3 years minimum experience working (or interning) in a design or architecture firm.
Highly proficient in REVIT, AutoCAD, Sketch up, Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and to work within a team structure.
Excellent graphic presentation skills, including rendering plans and elevations and assembling materials boards.
FF&E - Experience selecting and specifying lighting and furnishings a plus.
FF&E / IA - Experience selecting and specifying hardware, materials, and finishes a plus.
IA - Experience in production and coordination of construction drawing sets with knowledge of construction detailing, materials, methods, and codes a plus.
IA - Experience in understanding of major consultants’ work, and ability to interpret their plans and specifications a plus.
