Intermediate Interior Designer, 5-7 Years

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Candidate may be focused more towards FF&E or Interior Architecture responsibilities as noted.

  • Experience in all phases from Concepts though Construction Administration.

  • Prepare FF&E package documentation (i.e. FF&E specifications, custom furniture drawings, furniture plan layouts and coordination with interior architectural plans). 

  • Preparation of interior architectural package documentation (i.e. plans, architectural specifications, details, custom millwork drawings, elevations, furniture plan layouts and lighting).

  • Select furnishings, material finishes, hardware and plumbing fixtures.

  • Develop space plans, layouts and elevations in Auto Cad and/or REVIT.

  • Coordinate with outside architects, engineers, contractors, lighting designers, purchasing agents, manufacturers, vendors and other outside consultants as needed.

  • Under the supervision of a lead designer, perform construction administration including site visits, RFI responses, shop drawing and control sample review, and coordination with consultants, manufacturers, etc.

  • Coordinate and organize working budgets.

  • Attend client meetings and presentations.

Skills Required:

  • Degree from an accredited design or architectural school.

  • 5–7 years minimum experience working in a design or architecture firm specializing in hospitality, corporate, multi-family residential or residential interior design.

  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD, Sketch up, Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Office and Bluebeam. REVIT a plus.

  • Strong computer skills and the ability to create and manage Excel spreadsheets.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and to work within a team structure.

  • Strong presentation skills, client communication skills and excellent English speaking and writing skills

  • Positive attitude with a strong aptitude for learning and problem-solving.

  • Excellent graphic presentation skills, including rendering plans and elevations and assembling materials boards.

  • FF&E - Experience selecting and specifying lighting and furnishings.

  • FF&E - Experience interacting with vendors and manufacturers.

  • FF&E / IA - Experience selecting and specifying hardware, materials, and finishes.

  • IA - Experience in production and coordination of construction drawing sets with knowledge of construction detailing, materials, methods, and codes.

  • IA - Experience in understanding of major consultants’ work, and ability to interpret their plans and specifications.

  • NCIDQ certification/Certified Interior Designer preferred; LEED Accredited Professional a plus.
